VERIFY YOUR NEWSPAPERS!

Our auditor requires the Yakima Herald-Republic Newspaper in Education (NIE) program to have an affidavit on file from every teacher confirming we have provided newspapers and curriculum materials. Affidavits are required each semester to confirm delivery during that portion of the school year.

Worried About The WASL?

If you take the Sunday paper as part of your NIE subscription, we will email WASL-prep questions to you each Monday afternoon. Questions relate to content of the Sunday newspaper and are intended to develop one or more of the following skills: reading and comprehension, essay writing, critical thinking, and evaluation and analysis. Questions are geared for grades 5-12.

This is a FREE service for NIE teachers. We need a valid email address. Sometimes schools block incoming mail, so be sure to ask your school to unblock NIE so we can get through your email.
